THIS IS A MAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSIVE WIP!!!!!!!!! these reviews arent made based on WHEN ive seen them but rather just at random, all reviews contain spoilers... duh
instead of stars i will be using pixels that match the movie as stars, while a specific pixel will be for a half star no matter th movie
this is just 4 fun :3 i love to watch movies and have 4 special interests that involve movies lol
Saw X 2023
i really enjoyed saw x, i really like when a franchise goes back and adds lore even if some people find it unnecessary. the traps were amazing even the eye vaccum scene was amazing, though it was a little dissapointing that it was just in Johns head and not a real trap. i also really like that it went more into Amanda and John's relationship though not by that much nothing we didn't already know, i find their dynamic very interesting. oveerall i think it's a great addition to the saw franchise and i liked it better than both Spiral and Jigsaw.
Scream 1996
scream is probably one of my favortie movies, i love everything abt it the twist of Syd's boyfriend Billy and their friend Stu being the killers after everyone thought there was only one killer was amazing! the movtive behind the killings is interesting is both interesting and silly, interesting because Billy blames Syd for his mother leaving while Stu really only did it because billy asked him to do so. i also really like that the movie is self aware of how silly it is but not to the point where its annoying and it constantly is like "this movie is really si9lly but we know it aint that something!".
Brokeback Mountain 2005
Brokeback Mountain is a beautifully done and maybe im biased because it is my special interest but this is honestly the best movie ive ever seen. it is wonderfully shot, Heath and Jake do an amazing job translating Jack and Ennis onto screen, though that is not to discredit the other amazing actors featured in the movie. everything about this movie was done perfectly in my opinion and how they handled the press was even better, especially Heath who refused to make and even shut down other peoples jokes on the movie and shut down any homophobic questions or statements.Brokeback Mountain is a beautiful piece of queer media, taking place between the 1960s-1980s the story handles the emotions of being queer in a time when being queer would get you killed amazingly, with Ennis Del Mar played by Heath Ledger having internalized homophobia and Jack Twist played by Jake Gyllenahaal being more open and less afraid of his queerness. the movie features a scene after the first tent scene where they make love for the first time in which Ennis rides up to the sheep to find one being eaten by a coyote with a look of guilt to his face and of course this is mostly theory i think, i forget if this was canon or simply implied, but the death of the sheep represents the death of their innocents both are implied to be virgins and being gay at the time was seen as a dirty sin, them having sex is both them losing innocents in the sense of losing their virginity, and in the sense that it is queer losing their purity in both aspects. truly a beutiful movie and what i find to be one of the best pieces of queer media both in book and movie.
